Barrel Aged Nikita
Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout
NIKITA [NI-KEE-TUH, KROO-SH-CHEF] — 1894-1971, Premier of the Soviet Union from 1958–64, oversaw the creation of Sputnik 2.
Barrel aged Nikita began its life as a fairly traditional Rye Russian Imperial Stout. It was brewed with roasted barley, midnight wheat, and 20% local rye, hopped with Magnum, Cascade, and Mount Hood. Nikita was then aged in bourbon barrels. The result is a smooth and delicious barrel aged beer with notes of oak, vanilla, baker's chocolate, and bourbon.
